Flame Test
Original flame: (blue)
Flame with barium: (pale yellow green)
Did not manage to take a picture.
Flame with calcium: (orange-red)
Flame with copper: (blue-green)
Lead: (white blue)
Potassium: (liliac red)
Sodium: (intense yellow)
Mixture:
Thinking question:
What colour would human ash produce?
I think that human ash will produce a mixture of colours - mainly orange-red, and maybe small amounts of yellow and liliac. This is because, human ash should be largely made up of calcium, from the bones, and a little mineral salt like sodium and potassium.

20 July 2011 - Finger Printing
Powder Dusting Method
Attempt 1:
Some parts of the finger print was not revealed by the powder. The fingerprint was relatively clear, but might have been clearer if I had oiled my finger more.
Attempt 2:
The lines of the fingerprint was not shown by the powder. Instead, the powder formed dots instead. Perhaps I did not dust the powder well.
Due to time constraints, I was unable to make a 3rd attempt.
Iodine Fuming Method
Attempt 1 was unsuccessful and did not show the fingerprint at all. This might have been because the fingerprint was not facing the source of iodine fumes.
Attempt 2:
Initially, the fingerprint was shown quite clearly. However, I was unable to take a picture immediately and the fingerprint faded partially when I finally managed to do so. This might have been due to the fumes escaping through air holes.
Ridges and Pores Activity
The marks did not manage to show up in the picture very well. However, faint lines can still be observed.
Cyanoacrylate (Superglue) Fuming Method
This did not work out very well and only a few dots were shown.
Ink Stamp
This resulted in the clearest image of my fingerprints.
